Hood Groove Management Performer Dude K and OSEKA at the European Union’s “Youth Dialogue” event
Wheelchair basketball exhibition games, organised by the #BEACTIVE programme in collaboration with OSEKA, were held on Tuesday, 28 January in Gazi.
The aim of the event was to highlight the values of inclusion, integration, and equal opportunities in sport – values actively promoted and supported by the European Commission through the #BEACTIVE initiative.
Participants in the wheelchair basketball games included the Minister of Sports Mr Ioannis Vroutsis, European Commissioner Mr Glenn Micallef, MEP and former international basketball player Mr Nikos Pappas, Secretary General of Sports Mr Giorgos Mavrotas, Mayor of Athens Mr Haris Doukas, Panathinaikos basketball player and Spanish national team member Mr Juancho Hernangomez, Paralympic cyclist Mr Nikos Papangelis, and Olympic weightlifter Mr Theodoros Iakovidis.
As part of the #BEACTIVE programme, a gymnastics performance was also presented by the athletes of the “S.FI.G.A. Aigaleo” club. The event concluded with an impressive freestyle basketball show by performer Dude K.
